Talking My car insurance renewal fun....

Well after ringing up my current insurers I had a renewal quote of 1500... I thought, not bad, so I will ring about and see what I can find..

Now I've got the following mod's done (bar the Apexi but may as well pay for it now as it'll be added soon )

P1 18" alloys
Brembo conversion front and rear (changing soon )
Ninja complete Exhaust system (downpipe to backbox)
Apexi ECU
Stiffened suspension
6 Speed gearbox conversion
New style P1 bumper and splitter...

All of the above mod's are on a Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type R 98 import... And here's the quotes.... Baring in mind, I'm 26 now with 8 years no claims, no points or claims and been driving a little over 8.5 years...

Lifesure (Performance Direct) 1200 Fully comp, NO MOD's, with mod's 1000 or more on top
Debenhams 2030 Fully comp
Yes 1938 Fully comp
Norwich Union 1931 Fully comp
M&S Money 1901 Fully comp
Budget 1850 Fully comp
Sky Insurance 1200 Fully comp
Brentacre 1150 Fully comp (nothing over 320bhp tho)
A-Plan 1080 Fully comp
Direct Line 1060 but with no mod's and it required a Tracker. Used Navtrak Proactive model.
Lloyds TSB 1044 but with no mod's and it required a Tracker. Used Navtrak Proactive model.
Greenlight 880 Fully comp

Now after contacting A-Plan about the quote I recieved from Greenlight, they have knocked off 280 to make it an EVEN 800 for the year Not bad if I do say so myself

Not heard back from Hastings Direct or Keith Michaels to which I will hopefully be chasing up today and see what they have to say

Show's to shop about me thinks

As I have said mate, I've tried getting through and when I have he's not called me back so I'm gonna give him a try in a bit I hope it can match or better the price, I've never had such cheap insurance!!

Mod's are like for like with A-Plan too and Greenlight

I cant understand why people dont give you the prices you end up getting in the first place? I mean why say insurance is £1000 for x and then call back, say you've had a cheaper quote and they knock £280 off the price?! Why not just do that in the first place?! I hate insurance!!

Dont have a garage so they should know its on the street!! I'll see if I can get through, if not, I'll just stick with A-Plan...

I know a FMIC would only cost £25 extra through Greenlight..

I was speaking to the gent at A-Plan and he says he doesnt understand how they manage to garrente a like for like but they will even give the money to the customer and allow them to go and source it out...

Just got off the phone from Keith Michaels, great chap, good quote, not as cheap but I believe it will be for a better policy Still, £825 down from £1500 is nothing to be laughed at
