6 gears just got to change more cos there short lol

At 75mph on the speedo, I'm doing 3000rpm's.... That's nearly a full 1000rpm's better off than the 5 speed I used to have

Looks like the 6sp is saving you some £'s can i have it lol , i think my mate just has the 5sp in his type r , so that would explain the diff in mpg

I hope its saving me money!! It certainly cost me enough!!

Even tho weirdly, with the 5 speed, I was still able to get from Bideford to Birmingham on half a tank of fuel... That was with Esso's super tho... Wonder if that made any difference?

They just revved too high for my liking... I had to get a 6 speed in it... I wouldnt have had it this long if I hadnt!!

Phil mate i reckon when youre not around somebodys borrowing your car and filling it up for you,i`d take it and get it checked out meself.fair enough on a run i suppose but still very very good for a sti type r

Dave, where you live? I'll swap cars for a week/month whatever and you can see what you think, drive it as you want and go from there...

I can't be more fairer than that can I?

For me phil youve took away the heart of what a sti type r`s all about-i suspect this will lose you money when you come to sell it,i want them to be a bit of a handful and on the edge-hope you dont take this the wrong way but maybe you bought the wrong scooby in the first place. (i wouldnt buy a sti type r without the std box meself)

Mate with that STI 9 6 speed box, you dont loose ANY of the orignal Type R's close ratio box BUT you do gain a great cruiser and its a Scooby

Its still a great performer still with a close ratio box to begin with...

I'm having an idea with regards to my car, so please check out the thread (when I've typed it out!!

) and feel free to let me know... Its just an idea going through my head....
