help needed for a confused potential impreza owner

Hi,

I am looking at buying either a 2001/2002 WRX or a 2003 WRX but i am a little confused as everywhere i look has different performance figures, the subaru website says 6.3 for a 2001 WRX and 5.6 for a 2003 WRX but other places say completely different figures, so which is right?

Are there any big differences between the 2001 and 2003 WRX?

Also what insurance group is a 2001/2002 WRX and also a 2003 WRX as i have seen places which say anything from group 17 to group 20.

Any help will be much appreciated,
Rob

wrx is group 17 (thats the easy one lol)

2001 will be bug eye or late classic and 2003 blob eye, so externaly they are mega different and not sure about spec but i bet some changes, i think interior might be different but not positive.

performance wise go from the subaru website, the blob eye wrx was renowned for being the slowest of the imprezas in standard form.

Hi Rob

UK300 Lee made a stats table on the New Age Impreza, hope this helps you with the performance figures.

Have a look at the Impreza Brochures. the 04 will be the same as the 03.

In the real world, the performance difference is not noticeable. I had an MY03 and when 'playing' with bugeyes and classics there just isn't any difference on the road.
