Newbie to Subaru needs info

Hi all, new to the Subaru bug (4 days) but hooked already, having bought standard 2002 WRX. Have questions already of course, like should the clutch judder when cold? If not, is there a cure other than the obvious one? It's ok when warm. What are the most cost effective ways of improving the performance especially the torque lower down in the rev range? Exhaust, full or part, chips etc., Any suggestions for specialist servicing/repairs on the south coast or near? Thanks in advance for your help

The clutch judder is common but can be overcome with practise using slightly more revs. Many people have cured it by getting the flywheel skimmed or replaced with aftermarket ones..


A good first mod is to replace the air filter with a Green Cotton panel filter. Then go for a exhaust replacement from downpipe back, something like a Hayward & Scott or Afterburner. These mods can be done without requiring a remap.
The full works would be either a full decat exhaust.. or sports cat exhaust system and an ECUTEK remap this should give you 280ish BHP

can confirm clutch judder a common problem - moreso with the classic scoob. I had judder only when cold for the entire ownership i run the classic scoob
