Immobilisers

Why is it that even though you have an immobiliser fitted, insurance companies still insist on having a Tracker system fitted?

Is every TWOCer equipped with a tow truck these days?

I'm an electronics engineer, and I cant defeat my immobiliser without, a small tool kit, soldering iron, and an hour or so.

Are we just being scammed by insurance companies, or is this paranoia?

try elephant.co.uk - when i told them my car had a tracker fitted they said the insurance premium would go UP !!! because they would have to put the tracker down as a modification !

absolute madness, so i'll be changing companies when it runs out in a few months...

These insurance companies are absolutely barking! Might give elephant a try and see what they come back with.

I have my car insured without a tracker and I'd only save about £100 a year with one, so I havent bothered.

I'm with a company called Tett Hamliton Its based in Bristol. I'm trying to find the ad
