Good evening guys.

Has anyone or does anyone know a mod to remove the resonator box on a 93 wrx?
Mine has a crack in it and i would like to remove it, it is possible and what would i use to fill the gap?

there is a black square plastic box after the main airbox, it has a small diameter pipe underneath that goes to one of the valves/solonoids located by the wing on the drivers side and a bigger diameter pipe, i was told it was called a resonator box, but you may know it as something else.
I found that there small pipe had broke away (tried to glue it back) and it is also cracked.

hope this will help.

This may help, i found this pic that shows the box, it is the box just below the brake fluid pot.

Looking at pics they may not have these boxes on the uk car.

Either try a breakers like Grade A Subaru or get a good quality Cold Air Induction Kit (one that locates the cone in the inner wing) that is supported to prevent vibration which can aid towards MAF failure.

Or Foresters may be able to help

im not quite sure what u mean but if it deff is the resonator box you are on about then YES it will have one in you're inner wing you will need too remove the wheel and the plastic inner wheel arch to get to it then theres a couple of 10mmbolts to undo inc one on the engine side of the wing that holds it tight to the airbox and it drops out.

As Pete syas though a good air feed will be needed after you have done this to gain any effect.

hope this helps ?

If you want more detailed instructions PM or email me .

i know the box your meaning, also seen the part you need about 3 mnths ago 65.
its basicly a reducer going from about 60mm to 90mm and 200mm long with a outlet male connection for idle valve about 25mm thick and a 8mm thick outlet for boost solenoid.

these are hard to come by these adapters, so best to try as said subaru breakers.
i ended up making my own because i have an abs unit where most people have there induction kits.

What you need is an MRT Inlet Plenum Pipe. I have one fitted to my UK Turbo and it replaces the standard factory plastic resonator part which is quite restrictive to airflow. Although a small increase in induction noise may be heard, low end torque and high RPM throttle response will be significantly improved. Made completely from steel with powder coated black finish. Cost = 65 from http://www.jap-innovations.co.uk/
