Just declared my latest mods

Just called Liverpool vic to tell them about my new mods

Carbon Bonnet
Carbon Rear Wing
Ultralite Wheels
and mentioned HKS SSQV Dump Valve just to be safe

And the cost ...........

WAIT For it

NOTHING Sir

Listed Mods are

Exhaust Moddifications
Engine and Carburetor Modifications
Wheel & Suspension Modifications
Bodywork Modifications

I asked do you not list the items "No Sir on you policy they are just catorgorized" I asked "so I can do other mod within those sections then can I" he replied "Yes Sir on this policy which is one of our old style policies you are now covered under all sections"

I did initially pay an increase for the suspension and engine mods 250 I think it was, that was when I had it PPP'd and fitted the HKS exhaust....

Looks like I need to keep this policy going Oh and my premium is 738

I will still tell them every time I do a mod just to be safe

I think I am lucky considering how some companies react to mods

The wheels did fall under the wheels and suspension mods but at the time I did not know that as I had originallly just told them about the Prodrive springs.

Yes I would notify them. When I told LV that I had Prodrive springs fitted and that it was a Subaru Accessory they again did not charge for the mod but catogorised it as Suspension Modifications, then later when I told them about my drop links antilift kit and anti-role bars they to fell into the Suspesion modification catogory and no charge again

Any reason why I should declare them ?

They're a genuine Subaru part.

What's the advantage ? :?:

Say you have a big accident and lets say mo down a load of people at a bus stop (big payouts) do you not think the insurence company will try to get out of paying.
Sorry sir but you have modified your car and it is not standard (i.e as it left the factory) therefore you insurence is invalid. Believe me people have had their insurence cancelled.

Yes. I've posted on here about a woman I know who bought a scoob and didn't declare something that was on it when she bought it (different colour wheels). She crashed the scoob and the insurance company wouldn't pay out. It went to court and was quite a few months before she finally got her money.

At the end of the day if it's a permanant feature on your car and it wasn't on there when it left the factory it's a modification whether you did it or not. Insurance companies don't play the ignorant card. You have been warned.

Back on topic

That's great news Pete. Our insurance has just gone up with LV although we've chosen to stay with them because of the amount of mods we have too.

OK.

I was thinking they would refuse to pay back any money you put into mods in case of theft...
