declaring an exhaust

I know its probably insurance company dependent but anyone deffo advise for/against declaring a new backbox on your car ??

any horror stories of non-payouts over a backbox ??

Its only just dawned on me that If I buy a new one i should do this but i've been quoted an extra 140 just for a generic stainless steel one !!!

i didnt declare mine but 140 seems way OTT -- Ive seen other posts about saying a Back box normally pushes the premium up by 25ish but not 150 :P

Keep us informed about progress

I've just called directline back to make sure I wasn't hearing things and they said that it'll be 137 for the year, that covers a backbox upto an extra 10BHP !!

I only just got the direct line insurance a month ago too !!

Bummer !!

Totally in agreement.

It probably wouldn't make a difference if you had a small car park prang, but if you killed someone it would more than ruin your life.

You are paying for an extra 10 bhp.. When I fitted backbox I told insurance no extra power just stainless exhaust giving longer life. So I had no extra charge.

thanks for the opinions chaps, I've decided the extra 10 per month or so is worth the hassle and i'll declare it .

I was hoping for one of scoobyworlds new "racebox's" but im informed that they wont be ready until mid DEC !!! so Im now tempted with an afterburner ( hoping that the motorway drone wont kill me )

my next worry is will it invalidate my warranty that runs to feb06 ??
