Binned it :(

Pretty much as per title really!

On my way to work this morning and coming over crest with a right hand curve back end stepped out, let me heading towards on coming traffic so I wrenched the wheel around, car snapped back the other way tagged a verge with the front right of the car which span it round and flung me through a wall backwards.

Sorry to say it but I think this is the end of my scoob ownership for quite sometime

See attached photos for the damage to the car!

car runs fine but the body damage is quite extensive so I can see it being expensive

I'm ok me (in fact I'm actually taking it quite well too) the car goes into the shop tomorrow so I will find out more then.

I am fully comp on it but the issue is likely to be that the car is not worth a huge amount (about 4k).

To be honest with my excess being 700 I'm not sure I wouldnt mind them writing it off, otherwise I have no fecking clue where 700 would come from. Even if they do repair it I'll likely have to sell it just to recover my finances!

Sorry to hear about your woes mate

Can you not source parts from 'Breakers' ? I'm sure it would be cheaper than going through your insurance ?

Main thing is though that you are alright.

sorry I havent been on in a while... v. busy with work etc at the mo.

Thanks to everyone for their offers to help with parts etc. The situation as it stands is that they have written the car off. I did consider just having it done myself but it would still have meant paying out alot of cash out of my own pocket that I simply dont have right now.

And when you bear in mind that the scoob was getting very difficult to run with current fuel prices, its age and my 24k a year driving it was a bit of a financial no-brainer to cut my losses and move on to something a bit cheaper to run. This will mean I can save some real cash towards getting a new-er scoob a bit down the line.

*SNiFF*

I'm gonna miss AWD
