Any ECU fault codes.

Maybe MAF as very fragile and saying you have an induction kit (known MAF killer)
or possible coil pack problems

What's it like on cold start ?

Had the a similar issue with ours. It would hesitate always when under full acceleration. It would also was very lumpy after cold start and it used quite a bit of petrol with avg 12.5mpg

Since it was under a year old, they didn't even try to find the issue and just replaced the ECU.

Issue reasonably solved, with exception of the fuel consumption remaining so high, even after 2 years.

Re: SUBARU STI VERSION 2 - MISSING UNDER HARD ACCELERATION

i had the same problem... i found it to be too much oil in the sump, if there is too much it cloggs up the boost solenoid which tells the ecu its over boosting and hits the fuel cut out,

try keeping the oil level between the two holes found on the dip stick reading,

worked a treat for mine! she flys and doesnt hold back!!! (i mean on a track, officer... ahem...)
