Help, Help, Help!!!!

I'm about to buy a X reg sport wagon (all being well) the problem is it only has the standard immobiliser fitted and nowt else!!!

As far as I can tell theres no paperwork that would satisfy the insurance company. I have however phoned the local Subaru dealer in Widnes and they have informed me that the standard immobiliser is CAT2 approved.

What can I do? The company thats giving me the best quote is expecting some kind of proof and they dont have a Subaru CAT2 system on their database.

I can't afford to get anything installed for a few months so I get the feeling I'm screwed!

easy mate , check the car to find out which model alarm is on it & go to your dealer asking them for some paperwork regarding the cat2 alarm thats fitted.... then fax over to insurance company .............
I dont know of any insurance companys that i've spoken to asking me for a cetificate stating wether the car has a cat1 or 2 i've always told them it's a standard fit for the year of car ........

hope this helps

Don't PANIC Mr Mannering

Subaru's WITH factory fit CAT1 or 2 alarms are usually made by SIGMA and accepted by all insurers, never had to produce any paperwork. Just say Factory fit and thats enough to satisfy them.

Which insurance company is this???
