Clearing fault codes classic Sti v2

Hi everybody!

Just wondered if its ok to disconnect the battery on a classic 1996 sti and charge the battery overnight? And if so will the ECU clear the fault codes and start ok when it reconnected or is it more complex ? Only have read somewhere that this works, mine has developed some strange fan problem since the battery was jump started, and stays on from the moment the ignition is turned on, have removed CTS cleaned put back in and still the problem, have even disconnected plug on CTS still does the same just more difficult to start

Any ideas please ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

It's OK to disconnect your battery and charge it over night. This link will help you reset your 1996 STi.
