2005 Cambelt

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good garage to take my 2005 WRX for its Cambelt change.It has only got 39,000 miles on it but it is due a change...any suggestions would be greatly received...thanks in advance..

any garage should be able to do that type of work, it shouldnt need a specialist as I do my own.

Ah right...cheers.I asked at two of my local garages and they said they didn't have the right gear to do it...cheers for the advice..

they must be pretty crap garages if they cant do a cambelt change tbh

Maybe they just havent done one before, but its more the ability and knowledge to change as opposed to the tools. You could always order the cambelt kit and keep delving into mechanic/garage who is familiar with this work, I ordered mine from
Japanese Parts | Subaru, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi
and am having it fitted on the next service.

If I can do them Im sure a qualified mechanic should be able to do it,
you can make a locking tool from flat bar with the holes 130 mm apart and a couple of 10p bolts and 4 nuts,
any info they arent sure on is in Autodata anyway, which 99% of garages use to price their jobs.

No worries....my main dealer is SG Petch but im not prepared to pay the prices..my big work goes to Gills at Leeming Bar...never asked them to do it so i just may ask them..cheers..!
