Re: Fuel, do's and dont's

I need a little help, I've just bought a 2002 bug eye STI Prodrive remapped to 350Bhp

I have all the paper work and the mods appear to have been done correctly, remapped by Duncan someone

So what fuel should I be using

depends what it was mapped for, i should think its dynamix, duncan graham. can drop him a bell (his number should be findable on google) and ask him or drop the previous owner a bell. Def need to find out though

I suspect it will be for 99ron so v power or tesco 99 though

the manual for subaru wrx turbo says 98 octane or higher all though you can run on 95.modern electronics on cars will sort out the differences just give it some time. its worked for me on jap import wrx turbo prodrive

lol, and how do you know when it has adjusted if you don't have a laptop connected to the OBD2 socket and how long do you stay on high levels of boost for, you may have already caused engine damage.

Yes you can run 95 but you have to stay off boost.

as these are a UK based Company id guess they are mapped for UK Fuel and not the 102 ron Jap fuel,

Try a JDM Import thats not been mapped to run on UK fuel without any octane boost, see how long that last.

Re: Fuel, do's and dont's

I remember an episode of 5th Gear where they tested all the petrols for BHP gains. The VPower was by fat the best, adding an impressive 5-BHP. It's what I always shove in my Scooby.
