Do you think awds feel slower?

My subaru is faster then my friends commodore, but his car feels a hell of alot faster, is there any reason for this? both manuals.

power to weight ratio fella..

subaru...2.0 or 2.5 flat4 configuration..
commodre...V8/V6 3.0/3.6...

must admit the Commodore SS-V redline looks a tidy bit of kit,alot of car for little money..pity they arn't avaliable in the UK..
