Knowledge and Advice Required....

Afternoon guys/gals….

I’ve just joined here as I’m considering purchasing a “Scooby” 

Now….i’m no expert but I’d like some advice if possible.

I’ve got a picture (in my mind) of what I want….and it’s Retro!

Picture Colin Macrae’s rally car when he won the World Champs – or there abouts.

I want a 2 door version which would be the Type R? Or P1? I believe the 22b is rather expensive these days? haha

Also….i’m aware the rally car version had bigger arches etc? Can you buy them as an after market part etc?

I’ve been looking for a car for a while now….i was thinking a Ford ST3, Megane 225 or Astra VXR….

None are quite as cool as a Retro Impreza though…..are they?

Anyways….your knowledge and info would be much, much appreciated.

Thanks

If you can't afford the 22b - which is the best by far, then go the type r. The p1 is based on it anyway. Check out the buyers guide on here too and take someone with you who knows imprezas inside out. There are pitfalls with poorly modified and abused examples

Ahh right i see, thanks for that mate.

I had originally thought P1 as they are limited editions? Possibly won't depriciate in value as much?

I definately want a 2 door though....and original.

The type Rs limited editions too?

Which ones was it that had the ballooned arches? Or was that just the rally versions?

I'd really like to get something Retro/Original as i'm pretty confident it won't depriciate in value...? They're almost classics.

Perfect thanks for your help.

I’m gonna continue searching for a real Beauty. 

Just one last question….

Aside from the Type R? or RA?, the 22b and the P1….are there any other 2 door models?

Cheers.
