ECU re-set on new age

Hi, after i posted boost lost last night some suggest re-setting the ECU, how is this done on 2004 STI??

Runs fine most of the time but then it seems restricted to about half boost until switching ignition on and off or disconnecting battery.......so is ECU re-set the answer???

Help if you can

Craig
