Blobeye vs Hawkeye

Hey chaps, been really thinking about selling my classic and going for a Hawkeye. I am looking at an STi with PPP so options are limited. Is it true that all hawks sti post 2006 are in the higher tax bracket? I've spoken to few even early 2006 and they are paying 430 for tax - ouch! This has lead me to look at the blobeye's which are growing on me. I will be test driving them soon but wanted opinions from owners or those that have driven both as to feel, performance and general livability.

Cheers

P

Re: Blobeye vs Hawkeye

Ok so I have now driven a Blobeye STi running at 261 bhp and a Hawkeye STi modified running at 352 bhp. My dilemma here is that neither car felt seriously more powerful. So I was wondering if I was to remap my classic and change the exhaust/ air filter I am sure I would have a noticably more powerful car. This must be down to weight etc, would you guys agree?

The classic and the hawkeye are both nice, my favourite if I had the money would be a 22b. Tuning all depends on budget, you can get some good power figures from a classic if done properly

and check your brakes, if nothing else the sti`s will certainly stop you a lot better and the gearboxes are a little stronger on the newer stuff.

Blobeye STI dropped at Alan Jeffery - Engine Tuner high performance engine tuning and engine building and a pile of cash......400+bhp on standard internals.
