Hi - 1st post here.
Recently bought my 1st Impreza WRX bugeye. It's true what they say, the only people who scoff at Imprezas are the people who've never driven one. I'm loving mine. I only have one issue with it - maybe you can tell me if it's a common problem. In the rain, even at normal(ish) speeds, the arse wants to slide out, with little effort required from me. As much fun as that is, I think it's only a matter of time before something bad happens. The tires are decent, it's on tein springs Is this normal behaviour? |

Re: Handling in the rain
what tyre pressures are you running and is there any other mods?
most people get under steer not over steer so I wonder if your rear arb has been uprated at all?

Re: Handling in the rain
Other than engine work, oz wheels, tein shocks and different rubber, I don't think anything else had been moded.
So you reckon an uprated ARB could help? TBH under-steer would be welcome right now. Gonna check the pressure when I head out later. Thanks |

Re: Handling in the rain
Just been out in it. Seems, when I bought it, I missed that the back tires are a different brand to the front - PSIs were down too - which, when corrected made the steering lighter but not the loose back end. Looks like I'll be saving up for some new tires and an ARB.

Re: Handling in the rain
When my tyres get down to 3mm its time to change the rears.
Get some good quality tyres and you should be sorted. I have my suspension 2 notches harder on the rear so the front digs in and is more pliable. Was set up for me by sumopower. Just play around with the suspension settings. I did for about a month until i was happy with the settings. I started on mid-setting then went gradually harder. This way you get used to it being more and more unforgiving. You will know when you've gone too far - then just wind it back a little and jobs a good un |
