MOT Q

Hello ALL
Just wondering with the Mot in the UK does the car have to get tested every year from when the car comes out of a dealer when New and what year/s does a car get tested? and does it get tested every year regardless of date of first registration? Here all along if you have a new car it dont get its first Mot (NCT) here until 4years old and then once the car tested you get 2yr cert then and so on a test every 2years which was grand, now what they want to do, and their going to do in june cars over 10 years old will get tested every year and as my car is a 2000 will have to test it every year a money racket its prob one of the cleanest 11year old cars on the road and is barely driven and only does round 2000miles a year not even and have to put it through Nct every year from next year on when my Nct cert up grrrrrrrrr

Re: MOT Q

Used to be no MOT for first 3 years and then annually there after in the UK and I don't think it has changed.. Either way it is every year here for cars that need the test.

Re: MOT Q

just had mine done,no probs apart from needing new pads shortly on the front/rear whilst having a convrsation with the guys that did it, there was mention that vosa where talking about bringing in a bi-yearly mot to bring us into line with the rest of europe, but nothing definite yet..no doubt we will do in due course due to the eurocrats in brussels...it will most probably come in quetly like renewing photo driving licences every 10yrs
