fitting carbon bonet to classic impreza

Hi guys,

Sorry to have to ask this, when fitting my bonnet do I need to use bonet clips? If so do I need to make holes in the bones? Also do I just attach the bonnet catch as per the standard bonnet? Any help will be welcome as this is my first carbon bonnet I've fitted. Regs Gareth

You just fit the bonnet catch as per the original bonnet. Wouldn't have thought you'd have to fit bonnet pins, but I personally would as the carbon bonnet may lift at speed. Fitting the pins will require some drilling and a dremmel.

Hi Riki,

Would you recommend flush pins or standard type? How do the flush ones work? This is completely new to me and considering getting them fitted professional, but I've done everything else to my project car and if I can do this will save me some money. Regs Gareth

I'd get the flush pins as 1) they look better and 2) I'm sure there are/will be legal issues with the protruding type thanks to ludicrous EU legislation to do with pedestrian safety.

Don't think they are massively difficult to fit as long as you are confident enough to cut bits out of the bonnet. You'll need to drill into the slam panel as well. Just make sure it is all measured up correctly and shouldn't be any issues imo.
