Unhappy missfire when cold

Hi, i've got a 93 wrx had it a week and was running fine, but now when it's cold it's as if it's running on 3 cylinders and when i back off the throttle it has a backfire. when it's warmed up it's been fine, has anyone got any idea what might be causing this.

Re: missfire when cold

changed the plugs today and still ran the same, an hour later it wont rev up (stalls) and runs rough on tickover, disconnected the maf sensor and she ran ok for a while then started to run rough again.
