clunking noise

Hi guys,

I'm getting a strange clunking noise coming from underneath the front of the car.
It happens only occasionally, and normally when cornering or breaking for a corner.
The noise sounds like taking two hollow metal tubes and hitting them together.

I took it to a local garage and they put it up on the ramps but said the couldn't see anything loose.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,
David

Re: clunking noise

yeh, thanks for the suggestion but that's not it. The pads aren't worn, they're fairly new, although they do move slightly when changing from reverse to forward as they just click slightly into place.

The problem happens also when cornering very hard and not braking.
it's a definite thuddy clunking noise.
