Re: Sainsburys super unleaded

Yeah, pretty sure it is BP. I use it all the time as it's my local petrol station. Super is 97 octane leval, tho i do use some of that octane booster you get in Halfords etc, every time i fill up. My subaru runs fine with it. Good performance etc, tho i have never used V power, so i can't compare to that.

Some people say bp ultimate doesn't work well in scoobs. Can't verify that as I don't have a choic of supplier where I live

Re: Sainsburys super unleaded

sainsburys is by bp, tesco stuff is higher ron but in no means better subaru engines run at optimum 97octane, and if your running on 99ron it maybe would need remapping, engine knock etc. Octane rating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia see bit on effects of octane number if your bored out of your skulls and want to know a bit more lmao
after all this cr*p im talking i recomend v power as i work at the refinery that produces it and there spec is a lot higher than other producers! and no i dont get any shares in the company if sales increase lmao!!

Havin a higher Ron is always better. 98 is optimum not 97.

Re: Sainsburys super unleaded

V-Power the best in my opinion and well worth the extra. Tried BP almost cried thought i had killed my scoob same with Esso crap. Only good thing was had 20 of fuel to burn off very quicky twice

Only put half tank in see how it goes, think you will notice the difference tho

So i've been using sainsburys super unleaded (bp) with octane booster for about a year now n not had any issues with it, but as most people say use v power i thought i'd it give it a go. since putting it in, the old gals been running like a bag of old spanners....Soon as i put my foot down there is hesitation and bad pick up till about 4000 rpm.

I was using shell unleaded for ages and as soon as i changed to the v-power the difference was night and day. Anytime i put any other kind of super in the car it runs the same as you describe hesitant n slow even ignition is different. Maybe the booster working better for you than the v-power alone will.
