Got a final quote of Direct line: 659 GBP full comp, legal and courtesy car, 200 GBP excess.

Not bad for a 30 and 29 year old with a 2003 STi.

I just called for the renewal of the scoob's insurance and am told the insurance will cost 1365 GBP. Roughly what it was this year, despite the extra year NCB, but not abnormal since my registered address changed from a Cotswolds village to Swansea.

Then I get a quote from the same insurance company on their internet site (also got the current policy from there).

I am quoted 1049 GBP...

It clearly pays to cancel your policy and get a new one !

I'd be interested to know what the recruitment criteria are to work for an insurance company in the UK...

Question:

Just got a quote online from Direct Line for 727 GBP. This seems fairly low. Are they OK as an insurer ?
Thats because an internet quote costs the company less due to not needing someone to answer a call etc, so it costs you less also

Well, my insurance came of an internet quote I got from them in the first place. So I was comparing apples for apples. I have just heard from a few other people that insurance companies seem to value new customers more than their old ones...

There was a catch in the  Direct Line quote (659 GBP)

These :cen told me you are only allowed to take your car abroad 7 times per year. So if you got family abroad and want to pop down to Calais once a month, you're screwed.

These tw@ts clearly have to join the 21-st century.

In an era where you have free movement of people, goods and capital within the EU, I think this is nothing but illegal !

:gun: :ban: :nuke: :jump2:

Went with Norwich Union Direct quote of 951 GBP.
