Help buying a blobeye wrx

Hi all, new to the forum.

As my mrs is up the stick I'm looking at swapping my Clio 182 for an impreza wrx on an 03-05 plate.

I would love to hear any buying advce you guys have.

On things like

is mileage an issue
servicing costs
problems to look out for
is ppp a must?
Ect

I'm going to look at a 53 plate tomorrow, it's on 48k it's standard with fssh priced at 6k any tips?

Cheers mike

as for milage as long as you change oil every 5k and keep up the service they go on and on boxer engine is pretty bulletproof 150k u see often about.as for ppp its nice to have but you can get a remap cheap enough if looking to go up from 220bhp but even standard they aint no slouch will make your clio look slow enough

Re: Help buying a blobeye wrx

Believe it or not, I swapped my 182 in for a 53 plate wrx 5 years ago. The clio had 24000 miles and the wrx had 52000 miles and it's the best move i ever made. As the other guys say, the engines are bullet proof and the mechanicals last well too. I then swapped that in after 2 years and 75000 miles for an STI with 72000 miles. 3 years on and the STI has 95000 miles and hasn't missed a beat, only needing a clutch and discs and pads. I still miss the fun factor of the clio but will never be without an impreza ever!
