05 STI Handling issues

Hi, Ive just got myself an 05 STI with DCC etc after chopping in an 04 WRX pro drive wagon.
Thing is the 04 Wagon felt much better on the road far better in the corners.
If I accelerate while cornering in the STI the car washes to the outside then overstears when I back off the throttle.
The STI does have a very cheap set of tyres on, but I dont think its them.
I have booked it in to get the alignment and camber etc setup but Im just wondering if this is normal for an a symetrical 4wd car?

Also if anybody know what camber, toe in, alignment etc setting should be that would be great.

Re: 05 STI Handling issues

You'd be amazed at the difference poor tyres make to the handling of a car. I went from Potenzas (decent and pricey) which I found to have poor grip unless very warmed up to Dunlops, and the difference was night and day. The Dunlops just grip so much better, and that is between 2 premium tyres.

Also have you checked that the suspension is sound? If you have a shock on the way out that will cause all sorts of handling issues. Would say though that the symptoms you list suggest issues at all 4 corners so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was the tyres.
Come on you Spurs!

Re: 05 STI Handling issues

There was a problem with cheap shocks being put on the new Scoobs too. Might not be relevant to your model but worth considering.
STI should be solid handling, get it checked. If any of the bushes are gone then replace with poly !

Get the Tyres changed - it's I had powered car . It's not worth owning if you don't have the right rubber on it.
