anyone here 20yrs old?

21 is the magic number for insurance companies where turbo cars are concerned it seems. if there is anyone who is 20 which insurance company are you with? the cheapest i can find is 2500 annual.

boowarren 23 Jun 2005 10:07 PM

triplezoney 28 Jun 2005 07:52 PM

Tesco require u to be 23 for a turbo
Subaru Insured want u to be 25

Ring round, but the insurance will cost ya

Hang on... Been training advanced driving skills at Volkswagen and been test driver at Mercedes: 21 is far to young to drive a scooby !

Apologies for expressing my opinion but I think kids don't understand you can indeed safely push these things very far, but when they bite... it's not a pepped up Beemer or Mondeo where you got time to read your newspaper before you perform a reaction according to the rulebook ! They should get people to pass a proper test to drive scoobs or Evo's. Will keep those nutcases from behind the wheel that can't handle them and give us a bad reputation.

Direct access course for a bike.... If you are under acertain age you cannot drive a bike over (i think) 600cc - bikers please correct me :D

Maybe this should be true for a car? but i guess this is opening a BIG debate... I for one (26 years old) have had some experience on full lock which almost took me into a truck.... thinking i was powering on to escape a problem it sort of took me the wrong way...... been driving since 17....

Tis a fair point, would like other to comment  :D

I dont need to drive like a bat out of hell with the Scooby, I know its hugely fast but I dont race everyone that I see.

I like the car enough not to be driving it like a complete to$$er each time I get in it. Guys at work say, you've got a fast car, you should drive it like it.. I asked why.. They couldnt comment or I wasnt listening...

I'm coming up 25 this year (a little over a month and a few days) but I know when is best to use the power and when is not. I dont want to hurt anyone nor loose my licence just because someone calls me 'yellow' ;) (Back To The Future?????) If I wanna go like a bat out of hell, I'll try a track day :)

My opinion, but people say I'm weird.. Maybe they are right!

triplezoney 28 Jun 2005 09:47 PM

Kinda agree, I've had a Citroen AX on full lock b4, but its nothing compared to losing the back end on a Scoob :P Only managed that once, thankfully!

Must say tho, if I'd have had this car when I passed my test, I'd have written it off no problems

I'll drive mine, when I want to, but most of the time u only get corsa's n nova's that wanna have a go, thinkin they can beat ya, so I just let em now, aint worth it!

Saying that, was doing 110 up a B road at gone midnight last night chasing a motorbike

I'll drive it when I WANNA

Phill-type-R 28 Jun 2005 09:53 PM

No point in showing off to/for other people, something might go wrong, cost so much to put right, its just never worth it!

I was out on my bike one night, heard a crash and someone had gone off the road and smashed right through a wooden fence and down into a bit of a ditch. Lucky for him and the passengers no one was hurt! I just couldnt believe it... Young bloke as well, trying to keep up with a small Fiat thingy... (begins with a C and I cant spell it! I think the guy had a Nova or something...) Unbelieveable...

triplezoney 28 Jun 2005 09:57 PM

Don't get me wrong, I'll drive it when I want to, but I know how far to push b4 I back off  comes with age n experience of owning a Scoob for a long time :D

Phill-type-R 28 Jun 2005 10:00 PM

I havent pushed it anywhere near as far as it can go.. Mind you, the gent that test drove mine made it do things I could only dream of!! It was amazing.. So fast but I was just so relaxed!! Awesome cars.. Wonder what its gonna be like with my new 6 speed box in it!! Hopefully, no knocking!!

triplezoney 28 Jun 2005 10:07 PM

I must admit to pushing mine a few times, nice gently slide round corners etc but I'd be mad to drive it like that 24/7 :P now if I tracked it.....

Phill-type-R 28 Jun 2005 10:10 PM

If anything I will only push her in a straight line as I still cant get over how fast that is!! wow... But I do know never to let off whilst going round a roundabout as that tends to make the car slide!! Never ideal! Especially when your not expecting it!!

triplezoney 28 Jun 2005 10:31 PM

I like lifting off on roundabouts give it that bit of a twitch, specially when you've got a passenger
