2002 STI Pro Drive [bug eye]

Hi all, i've only had it for two months but the car has developed a problem with fifth gear, it slips into neutral when you back off the throttle, i've been quoted £500 to get the problem sorted out, but i just can't afford it, so was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying the car with intention to get it fixed ? I would be open to offers if you are.
It has full subaru service history until the last which was done at my local mechanic, i've put two new front drop links on it along with new polly v belts, the next service isn't due for 9000 miles.
You can drive the car no problem, nothing wrong with the actual gearing, i'll be quite sorry to see it go, but we're in hard times unfortunatley.
Has 81 k miles, tax until end of feb and MOT until July 9'th 2009. Forgot to mention that it's HPI clear also.

first off it will prob be a worn syncro.

second off, what about warrenty? sure the sale of goods act gives you some cover even if you don't have a official warrenty for it.

Re: 2002 STI Pro Drive [bug eye]

Hi there, i've been told by my mechanic that it is the selector shaft at fault, needs replacing.
I do have 3 months warranty on it, but it doesn't cover that specific problem according to the garage i bought it from, what else can you do ?
I'm through throwing money away on cars, lost too much in the past, so it's time to stop it i've decided.
Thanks for your advice though, appreciated.
