1997 Subaru Impreza Turbo Catalunya

On behalf of a friend I am advertising a much cherished, limited edition Subaru Impreza Catalunya Turbo; number 170 of the 200 made.



What is a Catalunya or CAT? (as they are affectionately known)

In 1996, Subaru again won the manufacturers title in the FIA World Rally Championship, finally winning the title with the points gained on the Catalunya rally of Spain. To celebrate this, a limited edition run of 200 cars (again with no number 13) was produced, this time going by the name of the Catalunya (I wonder why?) The main features of the "Cats" are:

• Special black mica paintwork (red metallic flecks)
• Colour matched door mirrors
• Gold Alloys (same ones as fitted to 2.0 Sport, but painted gold)
• Front and rear seats and side door panelling re-trimmed in black with red highlights
• Short rally style gear **** (initial sales blurb promised a quick shift!)
• Carbon fibre effect dashboard
• Air conditioning
• Special floor mats (black with red trim and Catalunya logo)
• Side and rear Catalunya decals
• Interior numbered Catalunya plaque
• The first examples were registered during March 1997, for an on the road price of £21,610.

Details about this particular vehicle?

Owing to the car's rarity the vehicle has been kept in it's original specification avoiding the costly path of modifying. The only changes being an anti-hijack security system a tracker and a towbar have been been fitted to the vehicle. With some insurers, the tracker can reduce insurance premiums.
Overall the car is in very good condition, it has been serviced regularly and been well looked after. In the car's last service (3 months ago) , a new cam belt was fitted and the rocker gasket seals were replaced.
The car has Tax and MOT until February and I will also include in the sale a set of spare wheels and a new stereo.
