Morning all,
You only break something if you over drive imo,
if you drive it hard as its designed you should be as safe if not better then on the road, the surface(normally) is better then roads so even though you maybe be loaded up more thru corners as its smoother its easier for the suspension to cope with it, without all the pot holes ripping it about,
The problems come when you think your a BTCC driver and drive ur road car like that,
Over driving is what kills cars/gearboxes etc not the tracks,
Ive done a few track days with road tyres and not killed them and drove home, going round the track in my eyes isnt about abusing your car to within a inch of its life its about finding the limits and sticking to it.

Re: Wednesday

I have noticed that if i dont drive my car hard for a while it seems to hold back a little. The more i abuse it ,the more it likes it. At the end of the day its what they are made for i suppose. Just that if anything does go wrong at the mo im in no position to fix it. The wife even thinks we should sell It due to funds

Re: Wednesday

I've done a few track days now (not in the Scoob) and I was scared $hitless first time out. As Brett said the peeps thats crash are those that run out of talent. Just keep your talent meter in the green zone and it's great fun.

Hope to take mine out at Japfest next year

When I first got my wagon it was as flat as a pancake. Think it had only been used as a shopping trolley/school bus before I had it A few days of "enthusiatic" driving and it was going much better.

Get yourself a VAG OBD lead and do a ecu reset, its quicker and may come in handy later for fault codes and even logging what the ecu is doing if you have any problems,
wont hurt if you use a crappy fuel either, a quick reset when you have you favoured fuel and its perky again without doing the miles for the ecu you see then new fuel.

Afternoon all

Re: Wednesday

Hello and good afternoon

Brakes are over-rated

Will need new tyres after track day... looking at the options

Will probably go for Hankook track day tyres... Proxes R888 to expesive and dont last long enough to justify

The Pirelli's on mine have lasted ages (P6000) and are great in the wet
