Scooby Net

Quick Question :?:
Was this forum made to get away from all the snobs and bickering on ScoobyNet????
All they ever go on about is Chav this and Chav that...
Cant they just enjoy owning a Scoob and like other peoples Scoobs what ever they have done to it. Or how ever much they have paid for it...
At the end of the day they are all Subarus..
Am I right or am I wrong........

Hi, this site wasnt made for that no....  It was built in my livingroom as a hobby site... I love both the net and the impreza... sort of an obvious choice.

We here at subaru-impreza.org wish to keep things cleaner than SN and concentrate far more on impreza owners and their needs. SN has a massive amount of forum (car enthusiasts) users and as such sometimes takes away from the impreza owning community.

MOST importantly this site is 100% free to use and free to join. No need to pay us money to gain discount / view files / hidden forums / downloads etc

Think thats what the impreza owner likes?

PLEASE join in with this discussion - could be a real useful one.

I've been on Scoobynet quite a bit, mainly just reading the posts...
By reading them, its really put me off posting on there.

Its just a really un friendly forum for the Newbie, whereas here, we welcome everyone, and dont take the p*ss just cos we dont agree with they taste in styel etc

Long live the .ORG

I agree mate. There is alot of info on Scooby Net. But alot of the posts just turn in to banter over personal taste. There are alot of good people on there still though.

As you say A newbie just put a post up with pictures of his car. Which by the way was mint. He got a right load of grief just cos he had Lexus lights and he got called a bullshitter because he said his scoob was 335bhp. He shut em up though as he had only rolling roaded it 2 weeks ago...

Know what u mean mate...
Post up something innocent, n get slated, just because people have different tastes!

I've seen some Scoobs that I think... YEAH NICE!
n others I aint too sure about, but its all down to what you like.

If YOU like it, that all that matters, n people should respect that

Thats it mate there all Scoobs at the end of the day. So it should be common ground. We are all in to the same cars.

Thats the great thing as you say most Scoobs are different due to peoples taste. I think thats a good thing. Rather than them all being bog standard and looking exactly the same...

Scoobynet is full of bitter and twisted individuals who are hell bent on stirring things up.

I do not read it anymore. Just post pics from events sometimes.

Most of it is free......all except about 3 forums. You just get a few perks for your 25 fee and an Icon against your username.....

I joined Scooby net back in 1997 when it first started. It was a very good forum then. After a few years they got in a little trouble with PowerEngineering and things got out of hand. It was then changed to Scoobynet2. Since then the place has gone down hill. The lads in the SW started there own forum Scoobyzone and we all drifted away from scoobynet. I still log on and read post but do not very often post any threads there. I do however use the PM and keep in contact with all the old lads, and the new ones that talk sence.

become far too much commercialised over the years and sometimes think the "advertisers" views get priority over the good of the "community".................some seem to use it purely to try and sell sh&te that peeps don't need instead of helping them out.....................

I have to admit that when I first got my WRX about 3-4 years ago I used SN all the time. To be fair to the site I gained a hell of a lot of knowledge through the search facility. There were times where I would be working on the Scoob and had a problem. I would leave it log on to SN and post the problem and within minutes I'd have the answer. So for that reason I paid the membership for a few years......however I have definately noticed a rapid decline in the site over the last few years. The usual I have a VTA Dump Valve automatically means you are a chav WTF!!! Too much b1tching etc and a lot of them on there certainly know how to make a new Scoob owner feel quite belittled.........

Whilst I don't have a Scoob this is and always has been IMHO a great site with loads of Impreza resource and a bloody friendly community - no problem too small comes to mind. Keep up the good work guys and gals 8)
