mate the box will be made of steel then fibreglassed over it

its not necessarily the strength its the flexing ads gone over the top to stop, i think he may be doing the box this strong in case he wants to change classes later whereas it wont mean him altering the box just adding more amps/batteries, in other words it gives him scope for other things too.you dont want to be going this far building a sub box/install regularly trust me.

Its a spl car pete (sound pressure level for those who dont know)the idea behind the square tubing is to absolutely guarantee theres no flex within the box at all flex is a reduction in overall pressure albeit how small it could only be a matter of 0.1 or whatever db but could be the difference between winning and losing a competition if you can be precise on the absolute box dimensions port calculation is easier though adam were on about making the port opening adjustable so he can cruise round with normal music on aswell when its done,you see its built for maximum pressure not to play tunes . wait till ya see the amount of fibreglass that goes into these things lol may not be this wk though.

will see about the springs pete but he aint worried-he`s half expecting to have some more leaf springs made for the back to be perfectly honest,a few of our landrover mates know a place where he can get some made up.
