Brakes advice please

Looking for pads and eventually discs for my car, I do a lot of hard driving and some track day work.

I've read enough about Carbotech on the web to know that I don't want to try them as they apparently squeal and create a lot of dust on the road.

Need them to cope with daily driving, fast road and pretty heavy track use. Tall order I know, but there must be a compound out there that can cope.

Tried Ferodo DS2500, rubbish, no bite and lots of judder, tried EBC Yellow Stuff, not enough stopping power on track and Pagid I have had issues with in the past too for the price.

I have heard good things about the Performance friction pads, has anyone used on track, how did you find them

Thanks

Jimmy

Re: Brakes advice please

From what you have just put I think you need to look at how you brake, If you think Ferrodo 2500 are crap there is something wrong lol
In the PF range you would be better with a Z compound,
shame you dont say what car we are trying to help with.

Re: Brakes advice please

Nothing wrong with the Ferodo DS2500. What Impreza do you have? What kind of power you running? As Tidgy said might be upgrade time

Re: Brakes advice please

Hi, not sure if I should create a new thread or not and new to this site. I have a question about brakes. Have a 2003 wrx sti in need of new pads and possibly discs. Have tried searching online for suggestions as what best to use but only seem to end up with info regarding upgrading the system. Wanting to keep the car as standard as possible. On;y used for road driving.

Thanks

Re: Brakes advice please

DS2500 Ferrodo pads are what most go for. but are expensive around 100, can get mintex etc for less, also the new design yellow stuff from ebc are also good and around 90
