welcoem to the site.

325 is on the higher end of the scale gearbox limit wise. perminent solution is not gonna be cheap (new uprated box) or can get your's reconed and see if it last beter (but thats a risk)

Re: Welcome selinaandrobin joins our Forums...

Driving style really helps save the gears on these, You just cant use the engine braking on these then back on WOT, they cant take it,
Use the brakes more and smooth out ur gear changes, also you say ur 3rd but is that 2nd hand? you have no history on a 2nd hand box,
I have a spare wrx box here I got as a spare for my classic( and 3 diffs),
My advice is get ur gearbox rebuilt by a good company, API is always worth a call for advice and they are very good at what they do.

Re: Welcome selinaandrobin joins our Forums...

Also save the syncros if for instance driving along at 60mph and you in 5th gear and wana go to 4th gear instead of normal changing the gears, blip the trottle and match the rev speed just as same as the speedo speed when clutch down when this reached change to 4th gear saves the snycros wear n tear also double-clutching and rev matching.

Re: Welcome selinaandrobin joins our Forums...

had a look at the budget and have come to the conclusion that i'm going to have to sell it.
I'm not very happy about it but think its the only way for now.
