Hi All,

Really great to find this site.

When I bought my first WRX last year I thought I was just getting a great car. I did not realise I had also joined a club of so many enthusiasts. It is just like riding a bike when owners wave to each other!

Put the Prodrive Performance Pack on at 5000miles and it transforms the car. I reckon it is an unbeatable combination of preformance/practicality for the money.

Would appreciate any comments about how long the engine should last with the PPP as it does increase the turbo boost quite a lot?

Bye

Peter

Shoudnt think there would be great decrease in the life of the engine due to the PPP.... Welcome to the site Hope you can visit again soon and keep us informed about the PPP :P

Does that name suggest you like the bikes too?

Enjoy!

Hello and Welcome
Really friendly and helpful gang here....

As for your PPP, should not make any difference to engine life IMHO, one of the benefits of a PPP is the increased intake of cold air via the larger and smoother Prodrive Y pipe from the intercooler, this cold forced air is condensed and as a result you get a greater volume of oxygen, and a more efficient burn rate=more power in the power stroke, the other benefit is the cold air helps cool the piston crowns and combustion chambers, the down side is that the centre bearing of the Turbo becomes very very hot so it needs its own forced oil feed to lubricate and cool it, when you have finished a run, allow the engine to idle for at least two minutes, this allows the oil flow to the centre bearing to carry away the heat, and stops the residue of oil left when the engine is switched off from baking into a goo...hope im not teaching granny to suck eggs

Hope this info helps put your mind at rest
