Hello all / PPP Upgrade
Firstly Hello all, Im new to this forum
![]() Could do with some hints really guys. Been thinking about doing the PPP upgrade on my X Reg (00 I think) impreza Turbo. After talking to subaru I passed out and vommitted at their price. So I started looking around for the bits myself. So far courtesy of a very nice man (nelson), i have got a Prodrive exhaust BB. Do I need to buy a decat centre section for that too ? I have also sourced some Discs and Pads off a WRX. Next was the ECU, someone has offered me their old ECU from a PPP conversion with the exhaust centre section for £400. Subaru then charge me £60 for fitting...but say it might not work - eh :?: Am I safe buying a second hand ecu ? Any pointers would be fab. BTW - Is it true Dark Blue is the fastest colour  Big Hello to Nelson too - top bloke ![]() |

OK the version of the PPP ECU will be very important for you mate - basically you can only fit a MY99/00 PPP to yours. I have it on good authority that a MY97/98 version PPP ECU won't fit
![]() So whilst you are being offered it at that price it may be worth checking this before you go any further. If it is a MY99/MY00 then its a case of pull up the passenger carpet undo bolts holding the protective metal plate to uncover the ECU. Then unplug it - unbolt it - bolt the PPP ECU back in plug it in and off you go ![]() As for the Exhaust - well any Decatted centre section will be ok - and I would suggest you go for a resonated centre pipe should you not like a lot of noise from your Exhaust. I can point you in the right direction if you are interested in buying this section of pipe. As you say you are buying the official Prodrive Back Box from me and all you then need is the uprated intercooler hose that is fitted as part of the PPP and then you have the full upgrade ![]() |

Right
Its a MY99 ECU. Subaru say they gotta remap it or summit, are they lying ? They guy selling the ECU has the DECAT centre section in with the 400 squid. As for the hose, cant find any 2nd hand, so its 60 bob from sparco. I dont know what type of centre section it is, ill check that now. TY Nelson ) again ( ![]() |

Yeah dead right
It works out like this PPP Back Box from you #110 PPP Centre DECAT + ECU #400 EDIT---EBC Grooved disks and pads #60 - http://www.zen24039.zen.co.uk/Scooby...isc%20copy.jpg Hose #60 So all in all about #600 for the lot, a saving of #800 I think it sounds OK to me. Does it sound OK to you Nelson ? Then I will fit them all, I think Subaru talk poo sometimes, and tbh i trust u more than I do them already. They guy selling the ECU says he will fit it for me if I want him to. Cheers |

Thats a bloody good deal mate cos you will be raising your power on your motor from 217BHP to 245ish BHP plus some decent stopping gear aswell all for £600   Go for it you WONT be disappointed....oh yea forgot to mention that the PPP ECU is in fact an STI ECU but the map has been changed for UK Fuel another thing it does is increase the mid range torque to about 255 ft/lb torque rather than the 225 ft/lb that the standard UK Turbo has
![]() Hope this Helps Let us know how you get on when its all fitted ![]() |
