Re: new to the scene
Hi, I have a 2002 wrx bugeye. I'm having problems! When I start it in the. Morning it starts straight away, as soon as I stop it and try And re start it, it won't start. I need to wait till I can hear a fan on and wait for engine light on my dash. Once the car is cool it will start again, I don't want to take to Subaru and not know what it is and them rip me off, any ideas?

Re: new to the scene
Hi guys need some advice I think my engine is on its last legs ive got around £2000 for a new engine but do I look for another turbo 2000 or would it be worth getting a WRX engine an would that fit the gearbox cause ive been told it would be a lot of parts changed if I go for a STI engine. Im not looking for a major power increase but a bit more then what ive got now my cat is pretty standerd so bout 215bhp would like around 260-270. Found out my engine had a rebuild about 80,000 miles ago so would rather just swap now. Any advice would be great bit lost on what direction to go. Gunna see about getting some photos up on here.

Re: new to the scene
welcome, what makes you think engine is on its way out?
second hand engine is just that, rebuild is a far better bet.

Re: new to the scene
Hi i know its a 1997 an there ment to be a bit tappy but mine don't seem to be stoping even when warm its just as bad as when first started plus in more thinking about putting a few more bhp into her so not to sure if its going to blow when i do.
Guess there's only one way to find out but don't want to throw money only to end up at the side of the road. If i was going to rebuild some parts of the engine what parts would you advise to go for first (bit much to ask but from your threads you seem like the man to ask) many thanks |
