Back box question

Hello friendly people.
I am a first timer to all this. A couple of months ago i bought a 2002 bugeye wrx sportswagon, unmolested. Im lovin it but she's not really sounding anything decent like an impreza should.

I'm not looking to spend loads, other wise I'd love to get it chipped a bit, and the rest, but new exhaust would do nicely. Nothing to wake the neighbours but sounds cool. So the questions.

So many brands, so many options how do I choose? 200 - 280ish
Is ninja or ninja 2 or..... Decent to get?
Is getting back box sufficient or will I need compleat exhaust rehall?
Will it increase my bhp at all?
When I buy it do I just send it to my mechanic, then drop the car off when it arrives?

Hope this is a good first time question post to be discussed?
Any response (apart from abuse) would be great.

Jonny

Re: Back box question

I bought 2nd stainless parts. Alot cheaper and will last as long as a new one. Exhaust wont make a significant difference unless fitted with a decat which will need a remap too

Re: Back box question

hi
i have a 2006 hawkeye wrx and ive put a Ninja 1 Exhaust on my car and ive cut out the centre box
hopefully i will have the cobra centre piece exhaust to put on next week, but i have found that it reduces my fuel consumtion and it feels more responsive . i found this ninja exhaust on ebay for 170 pounds.
this exhaust is just right for not waking up the neigbours
but sound good at top end and when it peeks out.
