TD05 20g - Any good?

Hi

Was just wondering what peoples experience is with the TD05 20g turbo. Was looking at upgrading to one but thought I would get peoples views and if there is a better option.

Cheers

If you get a real one they're great.
When I saw your car you had the FMIC.
Think about injectors, fuel pump, Headers and up-pipe, remap...normal stuff.
You're well on your way to 450bhp !!

Re: TD05 20g - Any good?

20g will give approx 380bhp.

Watch out for cheap versions, I had one from AndyForrestPerformance a few years ago.

Dont forget to add in the cost of a remap.

Re: TD05 20g - Any good?

Cheers, how do you know if its a cheap version? I looked on ebay and they all seem to be around the same price. Was going to get it fitted the same time as my new ecu, but I am still on standard injectors so will need to upgrade them and get another remap. I was going to do injectors same time as my stroker kit though.

Do new headers make much difference?

From what I can tell ported headers will help the gas flow and the up-pipe should be matched to your turbo. I'll see if I can find a link on here to another thread I started....

Re: TD05 20g - Any good?

be wary of ebay 20G turbos, better off going straight to one of the reputable tuners.

Heard good things about the Scoobyclinic range of SC turbos, dont rule them out.

either set yourself a budget or a target figure.

Re: TD05 20g - Any good?

well I set myself a budget and then set myself a target figure which did not match my budget. ha ha. I think I have decided on anything over 400bhp which I know is not going to be cheap, but I have no plans to sell her anytime soon so just really need to do things in the right order and when I buy things making sure that they will be capable.

Going to go with 770cc injectors but still not sure about the turbo as there are that many different figures thrown around. I might just have to get one from scooby clinic as alot of people rate them.
