Vf23

Can get my hands on a vf23 for decent money. I alreadly have a 3rd decat and uppipe decat and an induction kit and a remap. I have a 3 port sitting ready and a hyperflow tmic on it's way.
Would a vf23 be a good upgrade for my 2003 wrx with a td04? I'm aiming for 300.
Would I need a fuel pump and injectors (what size) to finish it?

Re: Vf23

Thanks for the advice tidgy. What would you recommend. Why not a vf23 - what are the drawbacks?

Re: Vf23

I've been offered a vf29 too. What you think of that tidgy? Is it closer to the vf34 - 36 or much the same as the 23. It's it good condition and cheap as chips. Sorry for all these turbo questions but there are so many different types and it's hard to know which ones best. As long as I make about 300 I'm not to worried about peak power. I'd love as little lag as possible and improved driveability.

Re: Vf23

I have an intercooler and 3 port and sports cat all in the pipe line and maybe a turbo. I'm hoping to fit it all at once and get the mapping done a day or two later. I already have catless uppipe and 3rd cat and induction kit. H & s centre and prodrive rear box. At the min I have some of the bits waiting to go on so it's just a matter of collecting the remainder and then the mapping will be done

Re: Vf23

i used to have a vf23 in my car an made 324bhp an it sounded nice like the whine of it an boosted well then changed to a td05 16g which did not like so now went to a vf34. still have the 23 in the garage sitting there. i prefer vf turbo to td series. couldnt comment on the 29 but 28 is similar i think an there rated well

Re: Vf23

The vf23 on eBay went for 70 and I missed the auction end. I have to phone about the vf29 but it's only 130. I'm on a budget as the better half would kill me if I bought a new one!

Re: Vf23

Would 440 cc injectors be enough for my above set up for a vf23 or vf29?

Re: Vf23

Thanks for all the advice guys. I've worked at my own cars for years but never had a turbo petrol and there's alot more involved in making it go harder safely! Thanks again!
