Smile Gx mods

hello guys and girls my names Ben and i recently bought a silver impreza gx wagon. I have to say im loving it! I was wondering what mods I can do to make the car run better and have the power come more smoothly. I was also was wondering how to make the car a little better in the BHP department.
I know alot of you will say just get a turbo'd car but thats not what iv asked to be fair. im looking for accual genuine mods to make my car a little faster. I have looked at other Impreza Forums and this one seems to be the best
all suggestions will be appriciated many thanks Ben

Also if anyone is from Southampton in UK let me no as i am also

Re: Gx mods

Would add to that anything that makes it handle/stop better. Won't see any power gains but tbh you'll probably get more 'speed' out of the car than the engine mods.

Re: Gx mods

Add to that aswell strip out weight from it back seats, A/C if you can live without the comforts you be surprised a lighter car will be faster

Re: Gx mods

Fantastic thanks guys great help so far. I never use air con as I no it uses soo much fuel and I just open a window if I'm hot lol. I no they weigh like 30odd Kg. Is that a hard job and I guess it would make selling the car harder. Was thinking a Green panel filter maybe a new manifold and eventually lightweight bonnet ect. Iwent to a Jap car specialist in Southampton and he said these engine are fairly good to increase Bhp. He said I won't see nearly as good gains compared to a turbo but still pretty good. I also read that some guy chipped his gx. Were would you find such a chip? Cheers again Ben

Re: Gx mods

35 or 50 bhp jets is all id suggest but for fun here and there you wont get anything cheaper for a N/A engine,
The subaru 4x4 system is well suited to take the extra imo.

Re: Gx mods

As above really, make it breath better so filter and exhaust. Make it lighter, I've got no spare wheel, removed the AC and various other bits and pieces I don't need. Keep it well serviced and also look at better handling and braking.
