do i need an o2/lambda sensor ????

hi guys i recently bought myself a impreza wrx import its a 1995 plate, i bought the car with a blown gearbox which i have now fitted and all is ok, the problem i have is that the cat is missing off the car so i bought a de cat pipe, the problem i have is that because i dont have the cat i also dont have the lambda sensor/ o2 sensor, is it ok to run the car without the o2 sensor, an is the a way to stop the warning light coming on?? any info will be great thanks lee

Have you checked to see if the fault code is definitly an o2 sensor?

i havent run the car as yet without the o2 sensor but i no with out one on there its sure to realise there is a fault and bring on the light i been told that u can put a resistor of some sort in the place of the sensor to fool the ecu is this rite or not ???
