new dump valve now i have a whistle

can any one help have a 2001 wrx wagon a friend gave me a new dump valve so i fitted it and now i have a whistle when the turbo comes in so.....i put the standered one back on ...no whistle
can any one help.. have had a guy check all pipes !!!!

the DV ur mate gave u is faulty maybe ?
Its obviously leaking air as you have told us, if your happy its fitted correctly( id assume so as you have refit the standard one back and its ok) then the only thing left is its faulty imho.

nice one thanks for you trouble one other thing it has an ajustable boost control is there a standered setting for this ie do i start it all the way in and just turn it out 1 quater turn until i get the best out of it or is there a better way of doing it lol lol ps there is a gauge fitted as well so i can see the boost reading regards spanish

i find the best setting for a MBC is the bin tbh, get a remap and do it properly it costs less then a new engine will.

i here what you saying ......thats next month if i screw the button it all the way in is that running with low boost and no harm

Is it a dump valve or manual boost controller??

If it is a dump valve then it will not be adjusting boost.
