brake upgrade

Hi all,
ive got a 2001 wrx, the brakes are not too good to say the least, im thinking of replacing the front calipers with brembos, if i do this, do i need to bleed the rear calipers as well as the fronts or do they work on a diff circuit, please help.
thanks

Re: brake upgrade

just be carefull to make sure they fit under your wheels. not sure the standard wrx wheels will.

Re: brake upgrade

Think tidgy is right there fella, been down this route myself. Brembo's wouldn't fit under my 17's, K-sport do kits for 17's though if it helps?!?

Re: brake upgrade

before you go down the brembo route try braided hoses and dot5.1, with some good pads. You might be very surprised.

Re: brake upgrade

not sure if you need to bleed the rears, but tbh if you changing the calipers you may as well put some new fluid in there and nw lines on as well for the additional cost (braided lines are only about 50). then bleed them all with new lfuid.

Re: brake upgrade

The brembos will fit under 17" rims as the sti comes with 17" as standard, the issue is the offset on the wrx will not clear the callipers.
