MY02 Sti exhaust system fitted to a MY04 GX

Hello Guys

Sorry if this is a repeat, but i couldn't find a post about this in the forums. I'm after a improved general appearance on my gx sedan, and what eva performance increase i get, is what i get, as power is not high priority.

I'll be picking up a 2002 Sti complete exhaust system from extractors back i think all the way back to the muffler and tail pipe.

Can any one advise me. How i should go about this.

-Should i just mount the muffler on and so be it along with the tail pipe and short section of piping from the muffler back?

or

-seek to install as much of it as possible as i would be getting an increased exhaust diameter through out?

any advice of what i can do would be great.

thanks Guys

I would think the Centre section and rear box would fit with no problems at all.

Re: MY02 Sti exhaust system fitted to a MY04 GX

True that, i've read some where that using the cats as well won't be as good for the NA car, as they are more aggressive for the wrx and sti's emissions. Which would make sense meaning they possibly could reduce the flow or air for my GX. (note completely in-experienced comment just based on what i've gathered).

any comments? Pls

I shall try and bolt on and off from mid section onwards. Based on some videos i've watched. >>>Cold pipes, wd40 for the bolts, and a pair of nut removing thingys.

any ways to pry two pipes together from a sticky gasket, any tips ??

thanks

Im not sure a DP would even fit as there is no turbo on urs so id imagine all the lengths would be different.

Get it fitted and see, thats 1 thing with modding sometimes you have to suck it and see,
I cant see the centre section and back box causing any major issues,I wouldnt even be thinking about trying the Downpipe due to all the hassle.

True mate,

i shall let you know, didn't see many success stories with this idea, it makes so much sense not to go to far in a GX. Will keep you updated.

Any car will benefit with airbox/zorst mods as anything that helps them breath is a good thing.

Re: MY02 Sti exhaust system fitted to a MY04 GX

Hi.

I would think you could fit the centre section and back box on the GX. But the bore of the exhaust on the GX is 2" as opposed to the turbos 2.5", hence you could have fitment issues with the centre section.
