Am I in the right place?

New to this site. Just wanted to find out some info re: improving the performance of my 09 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, and ran into no real info, just adds to sell me a new car. I got the car now I need help making it better. For instance: she is under powered. What can I do without violating warranty to improve perfromance and mileage? Chip? Intake? anything else reasonable? Would these be do it myself or are there other factors that need adjustment when you make a change? My guess is nothing is truly plug and go, there is always a catch to things. Different plugs? Change in settings etc.

Help! I don't want a world beater but I do like smooth, and powerful acceleration. Is this possible without breaking the bank? and my knuckles?

Lost in subieland.

Re: Am I in the right place?

tbh if your after power then sell it and buying a turbo;d version is by far your cheapest option. Yes you can decat, induction kit etc but your talking single figure gains.

suspension, brakes are and option, but the sport models just arn;t very quick as a qwhole im afraid.

With the car you have now just gotta make it a bit better sure you know you not going to get huge or resonable gains from it as it not turbo but could make it a bit more nippy by superchiping Superchips - Superchips optimise the performance of your car, helping to maximise your driving pleasure. read reviews on this and get more info as I wouldnt put it on my own car, upgrade leads, irridium plugs, K and N uprated panel air filter, get an uprated exhaust they all fairly reasonable and you will see a differnce with power not huge but it will respond more faster on trottle response and feel a bit quicker hope it helps

As above... You Could also get the Header pipes 'ported and polished' and dont froget... get rid of weight... cheapest way to gain performance...

Re: Am I in the right place?

I'm in the same boat. 09 Imprezza Sport, I just want a bit more power and snap. I don't want to sell it and spend another 15 grand.... on the other hand, it might be fun to throw a turbo on...... can you do that? Does it need new heads and pipes or does it bolt onto the intake.... just askin.
