Re: Help Needed ASAP Walbro Pump

NOT what i wanted to read today Darren.

Mine had a whine a while a go. Couldn't find anything about it anywhere but after service in January (changed fuel filter along with plugs.leads all fluids etc.) it seemed to stop. Mat have been coincidence but I'm wondering if it may have been the old clogged filter causing the problem. Did you change the filter in the tank at the same time? Might be worth checking both filters and also checking fuel lines for any blockages. that might be inhibiting fuel flow and requiring filter to work harder t maintain pressure.

Re: Help Needed ASAP Walbro Pump

When you fiited it was it a very tight fit?
Ive fitted 1 that was very tight to the metal feed pipe(where the small hoses links the pump and car fuel pipe)
It was that close that the fuel was making the noise as it left the pump not exactly a whine but I just trimmed about 4mm of the metal car fuel pipe and it stopped it.

you know a newage pump isnt the same as a classic pump?
A newage is a variable voltage pump its doesnt just take 12v and work, a classic does, could this be the problem with yours fella?

Dont say this lol ordered 92-00sti pump but was talking to a chap in scoobyparts when I was having a problem with it he said that some of the late classics have a set up from the new age so the pump is reversed if you know what I mean he just said people do what I done and reversed it to work like my pics in last post surely Brett if the pump was for the New Age that if they did give me wrong pump and as you said above would you expect the car to still run normal as mine runs 100% what do you think? and if they was a problem you think mapper spot it? heres a pic of Deans Walbro from his classic and mine their the same done a search heres a New Age Pump to confuse us more lol Cumbrian Scoobs :: View topic - How to fit a Walbro 255lph fuel pump. as I can see the difference see what you mean they no like black thing side off support plate what you call it voltage box dont know but mine and Dean has this black box thing but can notice the difference in the New Age Walbro Pump wires come straight from connector at plate straight to pump and dont have this black little box so what you think is all ok? Cheers
