Front Mount Intercooler on a classic

Hi Folks,

I purchased a 1999 RB5 a few months ago, and want to make a couple of subtle mods. I was looking at a front mount intercooler. I have a slight scuff on the bumper which i need to respray, so its an ideal time to fit, while the bumper is off...

I was thinking of this one

SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STi FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER KIT GC8 on eBay (end time 01-Oct-09 17:32:07 BST)

Has anybody fitted this one / any comments on it...

Also, am i likely to see any performance increase without a remap ( plus exhaust / fuel pump )

And do i need to butcher any of my tidy RB5, ie cutting bumper etc ?

Cheers for any help

Regards

Ant

Re: Front Mount Intercooler on a classic

won't really get any power gains until mapped, yep the car will have to have a bit of "butchering"done to it,inner wing, bumper etc...

i believe there is an installation video on here somewhere..

Re: Front Mount Intercooler on a classic

all that loss of pressure with all those i/c pipes going around the engine before the inlet manifold ................ hmmmm

If i was going to go front mount i'd get it from this fella............. http://bbs.scoobynet.com/group-buys-...group-buy.html and the car will definately need mapping to get any gains.
