Re: 1.5L HP increase...What is the best way??
sell it.... get a wrx or sti.....
nt being funny i had a 1.8 engined car with no power and was thinking of things that would help and in the end i sold it and got a wrx.... you will throw money at small engines with little or no gains.... turbo engines imo respond better to bolt on upgrades like exhausts and filters..... |

Re: 1.5L HP increase...What is the best way??
aye well ... i doubt very much if you would get insurance also......
i would start with a full stainless exhaust from the manifold back. a ram air induction, cams. remap. or even if it is possible and i dont know if it is... supercharge it...you are looking for more tourqe rather than bhp gains... even tho more bhp isnt bad...lol |

lol im tempting myself... looking at the Impreza 20N/K models which are 2.0L... o man i guess they might be better then, 4WD, abit of bodykit, momo steering wheel, turbo/non-turbo, tinted windows....................
my old car was a V6 2.0L so i guess im not used to a smaller car lyk this

Re: 1.5L HP increase...What is the best way??
i ment insurance on a wrx or the likes.. not wure where you are from but in the uk insrance companies would just say no way to a 17 year old tring to insure a wrx or stil... i am 29 and it cost me 500 uk pounds
An exhaust will help the car release gases easier alowing it to breath better..... ie exhale better... and induction kit will allow it to breath easier.... in simple terms.... i would get a 2l wrx if you could afford the insurance.... i mean it will be mental expensive |

Re: 1.5L HP increase...What is the best way??
afraid as said your gonna be flogging a dead horse trying to get decnt gains on a none turbo scoob.
scoobs get there power from the turbo, simple as. adding a turbo will bang your insurance right up, and prob be higher than a uk turbo car would be to insure, being only 17 then if i were you, i'd possibly decat it to get a nice burble, then save the money you would have spent, when you get your no claims up and can get a decent insurance quote on a turbo, sell the sport and buy a turbo. also the turbo has other uprated parts that you'd need to get it to the same level which will cost you alot more

ignore the extra power, it will be so little not any change, find one you like the noise from and leave ti at that, also if your carefull how you choose one and keep your origional you may be able to chuck it on the turbo you buy in a couple of years ![]()
